Grant award allows Wes to attend QFM

Wes was awarded a Graduate Student Preparedness for Entering the Workforce Grant under Dr. Allyson O'Donnell's MCB Career Grant from the National Science Foundation to attend the 2017 Quantitative Fluorescence Microscopy course at Mount Desert Island Biological Laboratory. This one-week intensive international course in fluorescence microscopy and imaging covered all aspects of the technology from the principles of fluorescence imaging to multidimensional imaging in living cells. Lectures on the theory, mechanics, and application of fluorescent imaging methods were intermingled with extended laboratory practicals and one-on-one instruction from course faculty and industry professionals.
